Dr. Scott Mills, Ph.D. has been described as a gifted coach capable of ushering people from mediocre existence into extraordinary lives. He brings a rare mix of insight, wisdom and humor to each client that he works with.
With a powerful educational and experiential background, he brings a combination of skills that are unique. These include a solid grounding in Eastern and Western psychology, a firm footing in spirituality traditions around the world and some of the most profound life shifting motivational techniques available. He is just as comfortable using tools of art therapy as neurolinguistic programming and hypnosis.
He earned a Ph.D. in Religion and Psychology from Claremont where he graduated with honors. The focus of his research was on the world of work and how people can shift their experience of it. He has continued to develop his interests in human change techniques across cultures. He continues to work with people who are seeking meaning in the workplace and a renewed sense of purpose.
He has recently published a book entitled Awake Parenting: Parenting with Purpose, Presence and Power. Combining ancient wisdom traditions, spirituality and psychology, the book has been very well received by parents as well as people who work with children. With his colleague, Dr. Dan Kaufman, he has explored the ways in which parents can support themselves and their children in living fuller, more satisfying lives. The book offers practical guidance that allows anyone who has children in their lives to laugh more freely, love more openly and see their children and themselves in a brighter light.
Dr. Mills is available for individual coaching, speaking engagements and workshops. In group settings he is lively, entertaining and rarely without an engaging story that people can relate to. His warmth and sense of humor are partnered with his great compassion for the ways in which people can stuck and his insight to getting them unstuck.
